Job Description
The Student Worker will ensure the day to day functions of the building will be accomplished by:
Cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, and all other areas of the building/department. Duties may include, but not limited to: washing walls and windows, vacuuming rugs, sweeping and waxing floors, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning pool/gymnasium area and locker rooms, cleaning cafeteria and kitchen area, and performing a variety of building and cleaning work.
Performing general clean-up work. Work may include, but not limited to: collecting garbage, rubbish and recyclables.
Operating power driven tools and equipment for the purpose of cleaning.
Using hand tools such as, but not limited to: hammer, screwdriver, pliers, and wrench.
Loading and unloading vehicles and trucks.
Assisting with the arranging of chairs, tables, and other equipment necessary for special use of the building (ex: Board of Education meetings, outside organizations, etc.).
2. The Student Worker will ensure all parents, students, community members, employees, and all visitors to the Palmyra-Macedon CSD will experience the Pal-Mac Way by:
Greeting parents, students, community members, employees, and all visitors with a friendly and helpful attitude.
Displaying a customer service approach when working with others in person or on the phone.
Being attentive to the needs of all individuals who request their assistance.
Communicating clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Utilizing their skills to de-escalate a situation when other people are in a heightened or excited state.
3. The Student Worker will assume other duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Building Administrator or Department Supervisor/Director.
