Purpose: The Student Production Assistant will demonstrate their abilities for success during their instruction in Technical Theatre Design as well as volunteering for internal PAC events with the PAC Coordinator. In addition, the Student Production Assistant will play a major role in the technical and managerial operations of the Performing Arts Center during the event.

3. The Student Production Assistant will ensure the Performing Arts Center is ready for all performances by:
- Being responsible for the technical operations of the Performing Arts Center, including lighting, sound, (any requested) set design and construction, and coordinating necessary maintenance with the PAC Coordinator.
- Operating, maintaining, and safeguarding the technical aspects of the theatre (PAC), including supervising the use of the lights, sound, communications equipment (headsets) and use and maintenance of stage facilities (wings, arbor/rigging system).
- Determining and obtaining the necessary technical aspects needed for events and performances presented at the facility in advance of production dates.
- Designing (if required), setting up, maintaining and operating the lighting and sound systems for the event, based on the facility request.
- Attending Technical Rehearsals in order to supervise and assist in the technical aspects of the event or production as outlined in the event request form.
- Coordinating the PAC procedures, any chaperone and ushers for the event, and ensuring that the protocols and procedures are executed properly. PAC protocols for the Performing Arts Center include, but are not limited to:
- PAC opening message
- Safety alerts backstage with the arbor/rigging system
- Lighting for dress rehearsals
- Coordination with event leaders for times to load-in and load-out
4. All parents, students, community members, employees, and all visitors to the Palmyra-Macedon CSD will experience the Pal-Mac Way by:
- Greeting parents, students, community members, employees, and all visitors with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Displaying a customer service approach when working with others in person, on the phone, and through written and electronic communication.
- Being attentive to the needs of all individuals who request their assistance.
- Communicating clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Utilizing their skills to de-escalate a situation when other people are in a heightened or excited state.
5. The PAC Coordinator will ensure the Performing Arts Center is properly maintained and cared for by:
- Working collaboratively with your peers for individual events.
- Orienting facility renters and visiting productions to the safety, technical characteristics and other areas of facility operations.
- Facilitating the use of technical equipment by the resident company and acting as a steward of the facility and equipment for the duration of use.
- Monitoring the condition of the equipment, including the lighting, sound and rigging equipment.
- Advising PAC Coordinator of any maintenance needed on equipment or any broken or damaged equipment.
Evaluation:
The SPA will be evaluated by the PAC Coordinator using the district-approved form.
